I’m in a rocking chair in the living/Hearth Room at Timber Creek Retreat House. I arrived this afternoon and have just begun my personal silent retreat.
It hasn’t totally taken hold yet, but I’m sure it will tomorrow with all the contemplative walking—indoors and in the woods—in the mediation room, during yoga, while getting a massage; the only breaks during meals with the others.
During tonight’s meditation co- founder/director Tom Jacobs had us share a poem called, “Flexible for Changes,” helpful for all trying to navigate changes in their life in more grateful, balanced, compassionate, authentic, spirit-filled ways.
Part of the poem read:
“I remain flexible so I can ride the waves of life.
My flexibility opens the door to new directions.”
And so it is. Amen.
